ABOUT CRIP

A relatively new committee, CRIP is already one of the most interesting and competitive committees of ISMUN. CRIP is all about providing you with the opportunity to discuss and debate the ‘Why’s’ and ‘How’s’ and ‘What if’s’ of human history, taking you down the path of the most controversial events in India’s past.

In CRIP, you can let your thoughts and imaginations you have in the history lectures take charge as you explore our nation’s past and make the ‘necessary’ and controversial changes to the concatenation of events.

Together, let’s S-CRIP-T the past.

PS- Be cautioned, Changing controversial pasts creates controversies too, making the atmosphere of the committee tense, competitive and interesting.

THIS YEAR’S AGENDA

Analysing and rewriting the Panchsheel treaty and the events of the Sino-Indian War of 1962, followed by territorial acquisition by the People’s Republic of China.

An avid reader, history nerd (obsessed with Ancient Mesopotamian mythology) and international affairs enthusiast. Often seen listening either to Mitraz or Chase Atlantic (there’s no in-between.), she has her eyes fixated on the latest Matty Healy mishap on Twitter. She could talk about her favourite pop culture moments for hours and hours on end, often finding connections between the most seemingly distant events. With an affection for gathering random bits of information, she aims to get knee-deep in everything she explores. Her hobbies include exploring extremely niche topics online and binge watching the Hangover trilogy.

Avighna Dixit

Director

He’s the one with the disappointed but not surprised look on his face who’ll crack the worst possible dad joke at the most serious times. A Bollywood enthusiast at heart, he is never tired of watching SRK and Salman Khan movies from the 2000s. Either intensely focused or blissfully ignorant, he lives life guided by his motto, “life is a joke, laugh until it’s your turn,”. Even though he is firm on his opinions, he would still give it a thought from a different perspective before making a decision. He’s a so-called “coffeeholic” addicted to his doses of sugar and music, and probably would be the first in the group to get diabetes.

A movie and sitcom enthusiast ready to always discuss a wide array of topics anywhere and everywhere. With a pot full of jokes and his golden smile, he’s a boy ready to take on challenges as they come. He’s an aviation aficionado and an active sportsman, living life by the motto “main hoon na”
